It's almost like he's set out to sink the platform - maybe that was what that was all about! It was a sort of left-leaning, woke-ish place that thought content should be moderated to protect people, and now it's a right-wing libertarian hellscape ruled only by occasional deranged whim. Did he just decide to take something that had become not super great, but still had potential, and decide to kill it? I can't rule it out - some of his decisions have been so bad.
It's cynical - but it could well be the reason. I tend to believe he really does think he knows best, and these decisions are the result of years of never being told no, and having enjoyed some crazy success with Tesla and SpaceX that has elevated his status (and clearly his ego). But as we all know, all empires must fall.
And as we know, the skills that determine success in one area isn't necessarily transferrable - especially to something that requires a degree of "soft" skills and people psychology, like managing social media. My worry is that his wealth insulates him from his failures. He could basically keep running it into the ground as a personal side project.
Musk has a very interesting speech pattern. It’s faintly familiar to another well-known narcissist. I wonder if we should call in Dr Howard, Dr Fine and Dr Howard?
I’m so glad I left Twitter six years ago. I should probably login and vaporize my past content but I almost can’t be bothered.

Lol!
That video, my gawd — straight out of an SNL skit.
Great post and I *love* your opening graphic — as an artist I thank you for not using f-ing AI.
Thanks for the kind words Frederick!
